nothing better
This is the sweetest thing I have ever seen
His first time wearing pants
Carter loves to sleep on his side and if we lay him on his back he will find a way to roll to his side. He LOVES his binky and if we don't give it to him he will suck his hand until he gets it. He is eating like a champ and I am pretty sure he is probably 7 pounds by now! We love him so much and just want to bottle up every second with him, I never want him to get bigger!

lovey
Today we took Carter to the doctor for a routine check up. He is up to 6lbs 11oz and 20.25 inches long. He is perfectly healthy and we are so grateful. I love this little boy more than I ever could have imagined.

bath time
Today we got to give Carter his first real bath because his umbilical cord fell off. He looked so dang cute bundled up in a towel after!
He is seriously the most cuddly baby I have ever held. He loves to be bundled and cuddled and will find a niche on you and just stay there all day. He is so sweet and I love him more and more every minute with him!

Carter Jace Evans
Monday November 30th Carter Jace Evans arrived at 8:29pm. I was scheduled to be induced that morning and by 8:30am they had broken my water and started me on pitocin about an hour later. It look me hours to dilate from a 3 to a 4 but once I did I got my epidural and everything was a breeze from that point. I dilated from a 6 to a 10 in about an hour and a half, pushed for a short time and Carter was here. He made labor real easy on me which made him even more lovable once I saw his sweet face. He was 6lbs 2 oz and 19.5 inches. He is absolutely perfect and TINY! None of his clothes fit, newborn are too big, but he is too tall for premie. I am hoping I can pack some pounds onto him because is just the skinniest baby I have ever seen!! I love him more and more every minute and love spending all day and night with him. I feel a lot closer to skyler through everything too, he was amazing all through the labor process and has been the best support to me and loves being a daddy. [He got a really bad infection in his tooth and gums the day before I went into labor and was a champ through the whole thing! He has a lump in his cheek the size of a baseball so he can't smile and I feel so sad because I want to take a thousand pictures of him and Carter! Hopefully the antibiotics he is on right now will help!] Carter has night and day confused right but I am a sucker of a mommy and just cuddle him all night because he wont let me put him down! I love everything about being a mommy!!

BIG NEWS!
Today I went to the dr. for my weekly check-up. My blood pressure has consistently been going up with each appointment and today was no different. My doctor checked me and I am dilated to a 2 0r 3 and am about 70% effaced. I had talked to my doctor before about being induced because my mom never went into labor naturally and today he asked me if I wanted to be induced. Considering the high levels of anxiety I have been feeling about NOT knowing when my baby is going to arrive I said YES! He called the hospital and came back and told me Monday at 7:30am! I couldn't believe that he went ahead and scheduled it so easily. It's only 4 days away! We are so excited and I can't wait to hold my baby in just a few days. So if all goes well and I don't have a super long labor, or go into labor sooner, it looks like our baby is going to be born on November 30th!!

It beginning to look alot like christmas!
It has been snowing here most of the weekend and it felt like the perfect time to decorate for Christmas! Everyone is saying it is too early but I dont think it is ever too early to get into the Christmas spirit. I am so excited for Christmas this year and a newborn baby boy is going to be the greatest present EVER!
This coming Thursday I have a doctor's appointment and he is hopefully going to schedule a day to induce me. I am going to shoot for December 5th, so I can get a week of school in after thanksgiving break before the baby comes. Of course I wouldn't mind going into labor naturally before that but I am just not that lucky. Hopefully I will have a date soon!

boys trip
Cute skyler and his friends planned a camping/fishing trip the other weekend. The camping trip didn't go as planned, they went out to the woods with ONE tent, ONE blanket and 5 guys. The guys weren't from rexburg, they had flown/drove in from out of town and skyler didn't think about how cold it
gets at night [or pack accordingly]. It was cold enough that the guys all wrapped potatoes in foil, put them on the fire then cuddled with potatoes. About 4 in the morning all the guys showed up and the front door and we ended up having a sleepover in the living room. The next day we all went fishing and it ended up being a really fun weekend even though skyler was disappointed with the failed camping trip. I just thought it was so cute to see skyler with all his friends doing some of his favorite things. I love to just listen to them talk and laugh..boys are so funny sometimes!

junk in the trunk

I just saw something on the news about how the government wants to put a higher tax on all junk food to try to help the obesity rate in America. I am very saddened by this news because soon I will have to be shelling out more for my beloved snacks and my husbands addiction to Dr.Pepper. I think that this is all just a dumb way for the government to try to fix all their debt problems..lets get real, if I want some dorito's I am going to go buy some whether or not I have to pay a junk food tax....and what about all the ridiculously skinny people in this country, they NEED to be eating junk food. I say this tax is hating on all the anorexics. Just let me be fat president, please.

BOO
Our ward has a ghost going around that is haunting everyone. We got BOO'd the other day with a big plate of treats and a note at our door and had to pass on the BOO'ing to 2 of our neighbors. I decided that I was going to attempt
making sugar cookies and they turned out AMAZING. Seriously the recipe I got was the best in the whoooole world. It was a fun little service project to do with friends and Skyler and I haven't minded eating the extras.
Here is the recipe for anyone who is interested...and don't worry they are super healthy.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely.
ICING
- 1 cup powered sugar
- 2 teaspoons milk
- 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- assorted food coloring

Here is my most recent belly shot at 33 weeks pregnant! I can't promise I will be posting many more because I am starting to feel HUGE! He is still nice and high and all up in my rib cage. I always say I am going to ground him as soon as he is born for kicking me so hard, he seriously has knocked the wind out of me a few times. My most recent craving is salami with cream cheese but I haven't given into it yet, I know when I buy the stuff I will just take one bite and not want it anymore...thats how I am lately.

the cocoa bean
I go through obsessions. I always have and always will. I get very passionate about them and they are all you hear about for weeks at a time. I have all kinds of different obsessions from TV shows, music, crafts to different foods. My current obsession is THESE...oh my sweet goodness, heaven on earth. Red Velvet cupcakes from the Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe in Rexburg. If you haven't been go..now! I used to hit this place up occasionally for a little treat here and there but now I am completely obsessed. I sit in class and think about how quick I could make a detour there between classes..it's getting bad. I hope I get over this obsession soon, though these are divine I am sure my growing belly does not need anymore cupcakes.
Shout out to cocoa bean..I am pretty sure I am your most devoted costumer.

the baby room!
This week my mom and little brother jeffrey came to idaho to visit and brought all the presents we got at my AMAZING baby shower! I felt so overwhelmed with how much love I felt at the shower from everyone and how well we got taken care of and now that everything is finally all put together in his room I feel so grateful for amazing friends in my life! My mom and I spent much time sewing burp clothes and blankets, modge podging letters, and decorating and it has all come together so nice! Here is a few pictures of baby Carter's room.

Now all we need is a little boy to put in there!!
