This last weekend Skyler and I went to our work Christmas party. It was catered by Texas Roadhouse, which was AMAZING. They had some comedy group come in and they were actually really funny. They were like who's line is it
anyway? if anyone has seen that show. Then at the end they gave out 4 big company awards. Skyler took home 2 of them!! I was so proud, he received, "TOP CLOSER 2008" Selling over 900 contracts this year alone and, "EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR" which was voted on by all the employees. He works so hard and I was so happy that he got some recognition for it!! I'm very proud of my hard working husband!!!

deckin the halls
Rexburg is now COVERED in snow and it feels like Christmas. Skyler and I decorated the house for Christmas and i am just lovin it. Christmas is just my favorite season.
However getting the house decorated for Christmas was NOT as easy as i thought it would be. First bump in the road, a Christmas tree. I have NEVER in my life had a fake tree, our family LOVES the smell of a real tree and take the trip every year to get one. One year we had a tree that was 18 feet tall i believe? [We had to tie it to the side of our wall so it would not fall over] I have always expected a real tree. Well this year Skyler and i are leaving for 2 weeks to spend Christmas with our families. Besides the fire danger he thought that a real tree would die after all that time. Skyler conveniently WON a fake tree at work and so i settled, but i'm still very sad about the fake. I think i need to buy a Christmas tree scented candle.
Another dilemma was finding a star for the top of our tree. I have always told my mom that when i have my own house i will put a star on the top of the tree, because for so many years my mom put up the same ugly 70's angel. This was not as easy as i thought, Skyler and i circled porter's [the local craft store] a million times and through Christmas display After Christmas display we could not find ONE star to top our Christmas tree, so Skyler made his own...
Even though decorating the house isn't as easy as i had thought, i am so excited to start my Christmas decoration collection. Skyler and i made a "let it snow" sign to always remember our first Christmas together by and i can't wait for many, MANY more!!

thanksgiving
Highlights from Thanksgiving at the Evans house
It was my first time to even try to attempt at making a thanksgiving meal
Skyler Made the dessert, a jello NO BAKE cheesecake [he was very proud]
We had all the usuals minus the sweet potatoes...puke
We spent it together, even though i was sad to have to stay here in ole' Rexburg without seeing ANY family, we actually had a pretty relaxing day, and the cooking was not as bad as i thought it would be.
This year we were thankful for eachother, family, our jobs, attending BYUi, friends, and all that we had been blessed with since we got married!

weekend getaway
Skyler hasn't celebrated his birthday for years and isn't really a birthday person so i wanted to make sure to make this birthday real spec
ial for him. I started off the morning with some doughtnuts, chocolate milk and some balloons then off to school. I requested that day [friday] off of work for the both of us so we could take off right after school and made some plans in Park City. Candy used to work at the Park City Marriot so through her i m
ade some arrangements to gets us a room for the weekend with the friends and family discount!! The ski resort was supposed to open that weekend and i had planned for us to go snowboarding all day saturday. Wel
l, due to lack of snow the resort didn't open, BUT because of that some consierge suites opened so we got upgraded for FREE!! We had to have a special key just to get to our floor [so cool]!! Candy helped me to arranged for some chocolate covered strawberries and martinelli's to be in our room when we got there [complimentary as well]. It was such a suprise for him and the hotel was so nice, we even got our own bathrobes!! Even though we didn't get to go snowboarding we still had so much fun just relaxing enjoing the cute town, and being together. It was nice to get out of little rexburg and just not think about anything else!
and a shout out to mom for the brithday package we got right as we were skippin town!! Full of treats, snowboard stuff, and work clothes!! Skyler loved everything in it and its nice to see him in a new pair of slacks!!

top ten
I've been tagged with the "top ten" things you can't live without..
1. Skyler- Oh my goodness i don't know what i would do or where i would be without him. He means so much to me. He keeps me warm when i am cold and ALWAYS knows how to make me laugh. I can't have a bad day with him by my side, and i love him more than anything...and i know that love will only grow stronger.
2. family and friends- The
ones that have been there for me through EVERYTHING and the constant in my life. The ones i know would drop anything to be there for e time after time, and life just wouldn't be the same without them.
3. being warm- The winter is here and i am having to bundle up. It really reminds e everyday of how much i love the sun and to be warm. I would be OK if our house was 100 degrees all day long, I LOVE the heat and i am SO grateful for heaters!!
4. Snacks- I am such a snacker. I know this is probably a real bad habit but i love it. I come home from work at night and just want to snack. I go grocery shopping and the cart is full of just snacks. If i don't have snacks i just crave them, i couldn't live without snacking!!
5. Children- i LOVE kids, i love ba
bies, toddlers, i love em' all. I love to baby-sit and just the atmosphere of kids. They make me so happy to be around and i love the cute innocence about them.
6. The internet- I love my internet, i love to online shop [because there is NO legit malls around here] i love to e-mail, blog, stalk peoples blogs, facebook, catch up on my celebrity gossip...ect. It such a nice way to keep in contact for someone who hates to talk on the phone like me!!
7. Saturdays- Even as a kid saturday has always been the day i look forward to all week, as a kid my dad ALWAYS did something with us on saturdays whether it was a movie, shopping, theme park, lunch or whatever he always spent that day with us and i always looked forward to it. I look back now and see how much of a sacrifice it probably was, i am busy busy all week and by saturday i just want to be lazy, it is my day to just relax and be with my husband. I could not make it through my week without my saturdays!
8. The gospel- I am so grateful to be able to go to church everyweek and have my testimony strengthened. I am so LUCKY to have a temple in my town to be reminded everyday of the covenants i have made. I am so thankful to have a husband who teaches me so much each day about this gospel, and without it i have no idea where i would be.
9. Traveling- Living in the m
iddle or NOwhere Idaho to get anywhere i have to travel. I have spent much time traveling whether it is back home to see my family, Texas to see Skyler's, Southern California to see the Hazen's, Utah to see some of my best friends, or just traveling for a vacation i love it. I need it to keep me sane and to have a break from life up here and the day-to-day routine.
10. There is a tie between chapstick and reality TV- Yes i could probably live without both of them but i love them both. I have an addiction to strawberry chapstick and probably have
about 9 different tubes of it scattered everwhere [the car, purse, backpack, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, my pockets..ect] But i also live for my reality TV shows. i got this from my faimly, i always have to have a show i am completely obsessed with and i spend ALL week waiting for the nights that "my shows" come on.
I TAG: My mom, Candy, Jeffrey and anyone else who would like!

making momma proud
Lately Skyler and I have been on a cooking kick. Which sounds normal to many but with our schedules [he is working 2-10pm...no fun] we tend to just run by and get fast food for many meals. We were looking at our bank account and started to feel a bit pathetic when 7 purchases in a row is for some type of food restraunt. So we have been trying to cook a lot more and try out some new recipes. This has
actually been really fun for me and in the long run it saves $ AND we have leftovers...so it lasts longer too!! The other night i attempted to make my mom's famous "wedding chicken" It had it's differences [i was missing a few ingredients] but it actually turned out real good. I was SO PROUD!! I am sure this post makes me sound like a bad wife, but sometimes fast food is just waaaaay too easy to pass up!!

random ramlings
First off the M on my keyboard is broken, so if any words are randomly missing an M that is why, i try to catch it, but i' kinda bad at it.
I haven't blogged forever and i feel like i have nothing to blog about. My mind has been going 100000 iles per hour lately so i thought i would ramble.
First off i got a new job, I am the after school program instructor at an elementary school in town [lyman elementary] so far, so good. I LOVE IT, i miss being around kids SO much when i am up here so it is heaven for me...even if the kids are all wild and the boys have "crushes" and it is ALL you here about. Through this process i have lost my name, i am now referred to as TEACHER.
With this new job, i did NOT quit my other job. YES i am working 2 jobs. I am now at progrexion 6-10 at night and the elementary school till 5. How i do y homework...i really have NO clue but i am getting it done!
Speaking of school...I have the CRAZIEST teacher who will not pass us on a test with anything lower than an 86 percent, and everytime you take the test your grade goes down, and the questions are different everytime. SO if you take it 3 times and finally get say an 88 you still only get a c on the test...this is stressful!!
With all of this i have found myself running on these...
Monster energy drinks, i'm addicted and with my schedule, i have no time to break it.
On a better note My family came this weekend and we had a ton of fun, they always take care of us!! Skyler is being sweet, sweet, sweet to me and we couldn't be happpier!!

too long?
Lately i have been wanting to chop it all off. Well not all of it but alot of it. I LOVE LOVE short hair and think it makes you look completely different. I haven't had short hair since the 8th grade and just want to try it out. BUT what if i HATE it? and have to wait years for it to grow back??
Anyone will tell you that i am THE MOST indecisive person in this world. I am back and forth everyday. Then i say i will wait till next year and so on. HELP ME make a decision.

idaho state fair
This weekend I convinced Skyler to go to the East Idaho State fair with me. I was SOOOO excited because i have not been to a state fair since i was a kid and i remembered them being SOOO FUN && i could not wait to sink my teeth into come fair food....well my experience was not quite what i remembered. I guess when you are a kid the fair is A LOT more exciting, so....
WHY I HATE EAST IDAHO STATE FAIR
The ANNOYING carnies who will literally follow you around until you spend 5 dollars to play their IMPOSSIBLE games.
The Fair Food. I used to LOVE it, i was so excited for it that i fasted all day just so i was extra hungry. BIG HUGE disappointment!! The first thing i went for was a corndog, for 4 dollars it tasted like one from DQ for 50cents!! Then we went for the famous Idaho Tigers Ear [pictured bellow] I pictured it tasting like a big scone...no no no, it tasted like a roll that had been sitting in grease for a week. PUKE
THE ANIMALS!!! Anyone who knows me KNOWS i am not a fan of animals, like ANY animals. I guess in Idaho the animals are a pretty big deal considering that over HALF the fair was just animals. The smell alone was about to run me right out of that fair...
Another little fact about me is i am DEATHLY afraid of 2 things in this world and one is clowns. I hate them, everything about them, they scare me to DEATH!! For some reason whenever you find kid attractions you find clowns which makes NO sense to me because i have never found a kid that loves clowns....but anyways. Check it out, CLOWN TRASH CANS. I had nightmares after this.
And last but certainly not least...the rides!! Who wants to pay 5 dollars a person to ride a ride that is most likely going to brake when you are on it. I probably inherited this from my mom but i DO NOT trust rides that travel from county to county...state to state.
Skyler and I found ourselves walking around in circles with nothing to do. The fair was not as fun as i remembered it, but i still had a good time being with Skyler. And even though we paid $10 to get in, it was worth it in the end for the entertainment we got out of people watching. If you are a fan of people watching, the East Idaho State fair is the place to be Poofs, Mullets, 5 inch high flipflops, teethless couples and MUCH MUCH more!!
