busy busy

The last week or so has been crazy and quite eventful.
A few things to note
*Skyler had his last week of selling!
*We packed up and took the 23 hour drive from Milwaukee to Rexburg split into 2 days. We drove through Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and finally Idaho. I would have to say these are probably the most boring states to drive though [excluding wyoming...its beautiful] What kept us entertained is the hundreds of billboards through out these states advertising the weirdest things ever. For example,

  • The Wisconsin cheese house
  • The World's only CORN PALACE
  • The World's tallest jolly green giant
  • Spam factory **over 16,500 sq ft of spam**
  • The Prehistoric indian village
  • The Organic smoking product factory
  • A ranch store that advertised "largest prairie dog on earth" for literally 300 miles
  • "WALL DRUG"
  • Wonderland cave, "your kids will love it, guaranteed!"
  • The Roo Ranch
Check out how good I tetris'ed everything into the back of our poor car!*I turned 21 while on the road but we celebrated it earlier that week.*Skyler and I took a cruise of the Milwaukee river/Lake Michigan to say goodbye to the lovely city....and there is more events that I wanted to mention but can't remember...pregnancy has literally made me lose my mind. Obviously they weren't too exciting.

baby evans

Something that I think about often these days is what our baby is going to look like. I feel like Skyler and I look kinda alike. People often mistake us for siblings. Take a look at this picture...We have the same eye shape, mouth, similar noses and almost the same face shape.

My mom is always saying "I can already see what your baby is going to look like" but I just can't picture it. She says it is easy cause we look so alike but I just can't picture us as a baby. So the other day I was playing around online and I found a babymaker! They morph pictures of you and your spouses faces and make you a baby!....I really hope our baby doesn't look like this.

she's 50!

MOMMA G IS 50 TODAY!!
I know my mom is freaking out about turning 50 but I have to say I believe people get hotter with age. I would prove it with old pictures of my mom in HUGE glasses, dresses with overly puffed sleeves, countless floral jumpers and big hair but I have no access to them at the time. As time goes on and trends change I am thankful to say that my mom has kept up! So don't worry just yet mom, it isn't downhill yet...you are gonna be the hottest grandma on the block!
we love you and all you do for us, and we are sure your already overly spoiled grandson will love you just as much!

a little bit of lately

1.Here is my most recent belly shot at 23 weeks pregnant!!2.Skyler and I are leaving for Rexburg in less than 3 weeks and we are counting down the days! I am so excited to get back and feel like I am at home again. Skyler has been working 12 hour days all summer and I am ready to have my husband back!!
3. Yesterday some of the wives threw me a surprise baby shower before everyone starts to head home. I was so surprised and it was so cute! They had the cutest games lined up and it was so good to all be together before they started to leave. We got some cute cute things for baby evans and all the talk about him is getting me so excited for his arrival!

ONE YEAR!

One year ago today Skyler and I were married for time and all eternity in Oakland, California. It's crazy how fast time has gone by and even crazier that in a few months our family will turn to 3! To celebrate our anniversary we decided to head down to Chicago for a little weekend getaway. I decided that I was going to relax all weekend and not worry a bit at all about how expensive everything is [there is a 11% tax on all food in the city!] First place we hit in the city was a Brazilian Steakhouse, Texas De Brazil. Skyler has wanted to go somewhere like this since he got home off his mission and we haven't been able to find one. The place is CRAZY, it's about 50 bucks a plate and you get unlimited everything. Servers walk around with all kinds of different meats, and if you want the particular meat they have you just ask for it. We STUFFED ourselves, we had everything from bacon wrapped tri-tip to a very unique Brazilian beef. They had very traditional dishes that skyler was DYING over, he loved the "banana frita" and had a flood of memories come to him after drinking the "guarana". It was so much fun to see him so excited, and it was definently worth the big bill! After completely stuffing ourselves we went back to the hotel for the night. The next morning was our actual anniversary, I left hearts all over the room saying different things I love about Skyler and he took the "gift for both of us route" with a little bag from Victoria's secret. We then headed back out to the city to see all the sites. We went to the famous Chicago theater, the magnificent mile, and much more. When I felt like my legs were ready to collapse we decided to head home. On the drive home we passed a "white castle" and had to go. We had always heard about the famous white castle sliders but had never tried them, they did not disappoint! Driving back Skyler and I laughed over many memories we have from this year and I think we are going to make a memory journal so we never forget all the fun things we have done, and will do through our years together. I wouldn't want anyone else by my side through everything and I can't wait for many MANY more anniversaries with my favorite person in the whole world!

half way

Today [Monday July 20] I officially hit the HALFWAY point!
20 weeks exactly, I feel like it has passed SO fast and I am ready for it to start slowing down. I am SO excited for our baby boy to come but I feel like this is the last bit of time Skyler and I are going to have together, alone for a looong time. We can't wait for baby, but we can...sounds kinda weird but makes sense in my pregnant mind. Let's pray for this 2 half of the pregnancy to go nice and smooth!

Here I am as of today, nice and huge

white girl

The other day I decided that I was going to go lay out by the pool and work on getting a tan. I am white white WHITE and would like just a little color. I never have much luck when it comes to laying out FLASHBACK A YEAR AGO TO MY HONEYMOONbut after a year has gone by I always forget how bad a sunburn hurts and go for it once again. So I spent maybe an hour out TOPS and was covered in lotion. It was windy so I didn't feel much of the sun at all and I actually thought I got out safe. Within a few hours I started to feel the burn and when I looked in the mirror, its HIDEOUS. I have the weirdest burn ever, its a big stripe down my face and my eyelids KILL...absolutely fried! I can't even open them up halfway!! I tried to take a picture but it just doesn't do the burn justice. SO anyway I am feeling particularly ugly and my loving husband has managed to make it worse, in the course of a day he has said:
" You look like a burn victim"
" You look like you got into a car accident"
" Woah, your face is SO swollen, its HUGE"
and most recently this morning, "It looks like you just got out of some bad plastic surgery"
Thanks hunny, what a gem!

anyways, I go in for my 20 week ultrasound on tuesday. I can't wait to see our baby and hopefully its still a boy [i have heard many horror stories about the tech getting it wrong!] I haven't taken any belly pictures recently but here's one from the 4th of july, I think I was 18 weeks?

i must be pregnant

I must be pregnant because.....

I am watching Michael Jackson's memorial and crying. I have never really had any feelings on Michael Jackson one way or the other. I never knew what I believed about him because people are money hungry and the media is sketchy. I did however appreciate his music and even one youth conference learned the dance to thriller and performed it at a dance festival. I can't help but to feel sad for a lost life of someone who made such an impact on music today. He obviously has changed many people's lives and many people had a great love for him. Please excuse my pregnant, over emotional self right now. I hope his family and loved ones find peace in God's plan for us all to return to him one day.

it's a....

Early Sunday morning I woke up with terrible pains in my abdomen, it felt like cramps x 2000000. I tried to just deal with it and figured it would go away, but after about an hour and half in pain Skyler was freaking out. It was very scary for both of us because I have had NO pain at all with this pregnancy and we were scared something was really wrong. Skyler called his mom, who is a nurse, and she told us we needed to go to the ER so at about 6:30 in the morning we checked me into the hospital. The doctor immediately took lots of samples from me and gave my some strong pain medicines. Then took me in for an emergency ultrasound to make sure that this wasn't a miscarriage. As soon as I saw my baby's heart beating on the screen I felt a million times better. I could deal with the pain if I knew the baby was ok. The doctor performed a very very long ultrasound making sure every part of the baby was ok, she measured all its bones and made sure everything was just right for someone who was 17 weeks along. They said my baby was perfect in everything they measured, and then I had to ask if they could tell me what it is. She put the probe right over its privates and asked does that tell you? Honestly I couldn't make out a thing but Skyler quickly spotted a little wiener, and let everyone know real quick. The doctor then confirmed what Skyler thought he saw and told us IT'S A BOY!! We couldn't be more excited, little boys are SO fun and perfect as our first child! Everyone has told me it was a girl since day one, but Skyler and I both had thought that it is a boy. As for what was wrong with me, the doctors said I had a really low white blood cell count and explained what my problem was, I didn't really understand but they gave me a prescription and after 7 hours in the ER I was finally released.

Last night in celebration of our baby boy that is coming we had blue sno cones and jello jigglers! I ordered a cake for Skyler's mom that has a blue inside and white frosting so she wouldn't know what the baby was till she sliced in, very cute! Now all the boy shopping begins, we CAN'T WAIT for our little boy to come!

I found a new doctor and have an appointment on tuesday, she said if there is a tech in she might do my ultrasound then, if not she will get it scheduled for sometime soon ish. So here we go with the guessing....what does everyone think it is? BOY OR GIRL???? I can say i am honestly soooo confused, i swore it was a girl for a while cause i was so sick and a few other things BUT skyler and I have had dreams NONSTOP lately that it is a boy...so we are split over here.
