Early Sunday morning I woke up with terrible pains in my abdomen, it felt like cramps x 2000000. I tried to just deal with it and figured it would go away, but after about an hour and half in pain Skyler was freaking out. It was very scary for both of us because I have had NO pain at all with this pregnancy and we were scared something was really wrong. Skyler called his mom, who is a nurse, and she told us we needed to go to the ER so at about 6:30 in the morning we checked me into the hospital. The doctor immediately took lots of samples from me and gave my some strong pain medicines. Then took me in for an emergency ultrasound to make sure that this wasn't a miscarriage. As soon as I saw my baby's heart beating on the screen I felt a million times better. I could deal with the pain if I knew the baby was ok. The doctor performed a very very long ultrasound making sure every part of the baby was ok, she measured all its bones and made sure everything was just right for someone who was 17 weeks along. They said my baby was perfect in everything they measured, and then I had to ask if they could tell me what it is. She put the probe right over its privates and asked does that tell you? Honestly I couldn't make out a thing but Skyler quickly spotted a little wiener, and let everyone know real quick. The doctor then confirmed what Skyler thought he saw and told us IT'S A BOY!! We couldn't be more excited, little boys are SO fun and perfect as our first child! Everyone has told me it was a girl since day one, but Skyler and I both had thought that it is a boy. As for what was wrong with me, the doctors said I had a really low white blood cell count and explained what my problem was, I didn't really understand but they gave me a prescription and after 7 hours in the ER I was finally released.
Last night in celebration of our baby boy that is coming we had blue sno cones and jello jigglers! I ordered a cake for Skyler's mom that has a blue inside and white frosting so she wouldn't know what the baby was till she sliced in, very cute! Now all the boy shopping begins, we CAN'T WAIT for our little boy to come!

3 things
2.I had my ultrasound scheduled to find out what we are having for NEXT week, but now that we moved that was kinda halted. I found a new doctor and have an appointment on tuesday, she said if there is a tech in she might do my ultrasound then, if not she will get it scheduled for sometime soon ish. So here we go with the guessing....what does everyone think it is? BOY OR GIRL???? I can say i am honestly soooo confused, i swore it was a girl for a while cause i was so sick and a few other things BUT skyler and I have had dreams NONSTOP lately that it is a boy...so we are split over here.
13 weeks
Anywhere between 15-16 weeks
This is me TODAY, as recent as it gets. I'm just about 17 weeks.
and just to end the post this is the cutest picture of skyler and I on our 10 month anniversary, its a year in just over a month...CRAZY!Posted by Lauren at 9:02 PM 9 comments

take me out to the ball game
Growing up in a baseball loving family I naturally have a love for it. Whether it was going to my brothers baseball games or heading out to San Fransisco for a Giants game I loved EVERY minute of it. Living in Idaho there is no baseball insight and over the last few years I have been itching to be able to go out to a ball game. The first day Skyler and I got to
Portland we took a drive down our street to check out the town and I spotted PGE Park, it looked like a baseball stadium if I had ever seen one but I knew for a FACT that portland does not have a major league team. That night I went home and did some research and found out that it IS a baseball stadium for the minor league team the Portland Beavers! I have been SO excited about t
his since we got here and last night a group of us finally went to a game!! I cant lie..I was a little disap
pointed by the small crowd but it was still a fun game and we got to sit right behind home plate. The beavers started off losing miserably but in the 5th inning they got a GRAND SLAM and ending winning the game 6-4! and the most exciting part of the game.....I caught a fly ball!!
I really hope that one day we have a little boy who loves baseball so we can continue to have a team to root on!

our baby is looking a whole lot more human!! it was so cute today, moving around like crazy and looked like it had the hiccups!! its heart beats 163 times a minute.i would update my blog more often but i am SO boring. I sit around all day with no cable, no internet half the time, no phone, and SICK!! i do lots of puzzles and card games just counting down the minutes for skyler to come home from work. I am starting to feel a little better though and hopefully in the next few weeks life will be exciting again!

our baby
today i got to see our baby!! it is a little angel and i just love it, you could see it's little arms moving around on the ultrasound and its little heart beating. This whole pregnancy is so much more real now that i actually SAW our baby! After the ultrasound i had to go to the lab for some blood tests and they took 10 viles of blood. After about 4 my arm stopped cooperating and they had to switch arms. I sometime during the switch passed out long enough for her to get the last 6 viles of blood, wake up on a gurney with about 8 people around me trying to wake me up. They said i got so pale that they could almost see through me. They had to call skyler to come pick me up and wouldn't release me till i stopped shaking...which took forever. i have no clue why i went out but i was so confused when i woke up and was completely COVERED in sweat. Even though the appointment ended bad i was still so excited to have the pictures of baby in hand!

dont mind that i am holding the pictures upside down or that i look deathly, this being sick business has taken quite a toll on me.

everyone dreams
Driving into oregon we drove through many mountain passes and through one of them there was lumberjacks cutting down trees with some huge machines. Skyler's eyes lit up and he made me take a picture of him with a log so he can "see himself as a lumberjack." The whole ride home all i heard about was how great it would be to be a lumberjack.

She FLIPPED [video below] I had her "help me carry in some stuff" and gave her a bag i got from the doctor FULL of all kinds of pregnancy stuff. As she was walking in the house she kept trying to see what was in the bag then after she set it down, it hit her..and then the craziness happened.

sunn diego
The other weekend Skyler, His brother Ladd, and I took a quick weekend road trip to San Diego to visit family that was there on spring break. There was A TON of driving but we all had so much fun and the driving didn't even phase us too much. We spent a few days at the beach, got to stay with the Hazens and spend some time with them, See little brother Zach before he leaves on his mission to Mexico, got some sexy sunburns, and just had some genuine fun laughing with the Evans family alll day long.
