SLACKER!!

I have been slacking bad when it comes to blogging, so here's a little catch up of the last month or so...

1. Skyler DID NOT buy a motorcycle. He was just trying to be a little jokester, i would never NEVER let him buy a motorcycle.
2. VALENTINES, so so so fun. Skyler took me out to eat the night before and then blindfolded me. We drove around for a while and then we walked me [blindfolded STILL] into a hotel room. He had decorated the room earlier in the day and it was so cute. We just relaxed, went into the hottub, ect ect..Then on Valentines we woke up and drove to Grand Targhee and went snowboarding for a few hours. That night we went out to eat with some friends and after words had a mini prom at the clark pest control building, it was actually kinda cute!3. Skyler has a new obsession with building snowboard ramps. He borrowed a tow rope from a friend and he connects it to the back of our friends car. The driver gets up to about 30 MPH pulling skyler till they get to the ramp and skyler thinks he gets "good air"...not the safest obsession in the world.4. There is so much snow here that it is higher than our mailbox...sad.5. FHE, we try to do FHE every week with our family that is here in town. The other week Skyler tried to be creative and came up with "7 minute craft box". He filled a box with random stuff from around the house and we had 7 minutes to make our own creations. After the time was up we all explained our inventions and had a good laugh.6. We got to babysit a friends little boy HUNTER and he is an ANGEL! He is about 4 1/2 months and Skyler and him were buddies, it was SO cute. We had so much fun having him over here, but it get's us both a little baby hungry...watch out mom!potty training hunter7. This last weekend some friends of ours were in Utah. They kept trying to get us to go down there to go snowboarding but we had other plans for friday night and didn't have time to get there before saturday. SO friday night we got home about 11:30 and at about midnight Skyler decided that we should go on an adventure and we went down to Utah. We got there about 4 a.m. and had to wake up at 7:30 to go boarding. The day was absolutely beautiful, it was warm and the sun was shining. I had no goggles because they got stolen a few months back and i got the WORSE sunburn. My face had ugly tan lines from my beanie and my eyes were blood shot. My under eyes and eye lids were so burnt that the next morning i could not even open my eyes and my face looked like a freakin tomato. Even though i felt like death after we had a ton of fun, but by the time we got back to rexburg we were EXHAUSTED. [yes, we drove home that same night and got back about 3 a.m.]
OK there we go, welcome to my life for the last few weeks!!

moose hockey

This last weekend we went out to watch the Jackson Hole Moose hockey game with a bunch of friends. I developed a love for hockey. Just a few reasons...1. Skating is SO much more fun to watch then running around on a field
2. They let the players fight!! The ref's don't break it up until someone is on the ground
3. Figure Skating during intermission
4. The crowd...INSANE, loved LOVED that
5. You aren't in the BURNING SUN or FREEZING COLD, you are inside
A hockey game was definently out of the norm but we actually had a REALLY good time. We became big fans just being in such a pumped crowd. Definently a good date idea!!

ballin'

Every wednesday night a group of guys play basketball at the stake center. Back in the day Skyler used to be baller and loves to go play. Last night i went to go cheer him. Turned out that they had an odd number of guys there and I had to jump in and play. I have NEVER played basketball before and i was probably NO help but it was fun to be able to play with Skyler. He was a stud out there!!

6 months

Yesterday was Mine and Skyler's 6 month anniversary. SO we decided to celebrate!! My cute husband took a break from work and brought me a card and some goodies, it was so cute to see that he 1. remembered and 2. thought about me!! Then that night we went out to eat, [since Skyler got laid off we haven't eaten out once and have been CHEAP so it was so fun to be able to get out!!] We went out to hardhat steak house and had the yummiest dinner, and the scones there...to die for!! The whole day he was like "this time 6 months ago we were in the temple, at our reception, and so on." He really made the day special for me and i am so lucky to have a husband who loves me SO much!!

FHE!

Last week Cousin Kayla and I were both very, VERY sick. SO we decided for FHE to make some soup, A family favorite, Tortellini. This family recipe calls for a little bit of wine [don't worry, the alcohol cooks out!] After the adventure of trying to buy wine in a mormon town, we had another set back, opening the bottle. It had a rubber cork in it, something that both kayla and i are clueless about. We tried EVERYTHING to open the bottle
....The bottom of a beater to a mixer....Scissors....Tweezers
....I had the amazing idea of reversing an electric drilland after about 30 minutes of pulling, tugging, squeezing, and prayer we FINALLY got it open.

workin hard

This last weekend Skyler and I went to our work Christmas party. It was catered by Texas Roadhouse, which was AMAZING. They had some comedy group come in and they were actually really funny. They were like who's line is it anyway? if anyone has seen that show. Then at the end they gave out 4 big company awards. Skyler took home 2 of them!! I was so proud, he received, "TOP CLOSER 2008" Selling over 900 contracts this year alone and, "EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR" which was voted on by all the employees. He works so hard and I was so happy that he got some recognition for it!! I'm very proud of my hard working husband!!!

deckin the halls

Rexburg is now COVERED in snow and it feels like Christmas. Skyler and I decorated the house for Christmas and i am just lovin it. Christmas is just my favorite season.

However getting the house decorated for Christmas was NOT as easy as i thought it would be. First bump in the road, a Christmas tree. I have NEVER in my life had a fake tree, our family LOVES the smell of a real tree and take the trip every year to get one. One year we had a tree that was 18 feet tall i believe? [We had to tie it to the side of our wall so it would not fall over] I have always expected a real tree. Well this year Skyler and i are leaving for 2 weeks to spend Christmas with our families. Besides the fire danger he thought that a real tree would die after all that time. Skyler conveniently WON a fake tree at work and so i settled, but i'm still very sad about the fake. I think i need to buy a Christmas tree scented candle.
Another dilemma was finding a star for the top of our tree. I have always told my mom that when i have my own house i will put a star on the top of the tree, because for so many years my mom put up the same ugly 70's angel. This was not as easy as i thought, Skyler and i circled porter's [the local craft store] a million times and through Christmas display After Christmas display we could not find ONE star to top our Christmas tree, so Skyler made his own...
Even though decorating the house isn't as easy as i had thought, i am so excited to start my Christmas decoration collection. Skyler and i made a "let it snow" sign to always remember our first Christmas together by and i can't wait for many, MANY more!!
