7 years in the making!!

Skyler started college at BYU-Idaho back in 2004, after a year of school he left to serve a mission in Brazil for 2 years then returned in 2007. That's when we met and maybe slacked off in school a little bit :)! We got married in 2008 and we took 2 semesters off to work and enjoy the newlywed life! Plans changed a little bit when I had Carter the week before finals Dec. 2009. We knew that we (errr Skyler) needed to focus on school and get things done so we can move on from our lives in the little bubble of Rexburg. That next semester Skyler got on fast grad and went to school year round for 1.5 years AND worked full time. It was tough, he would head off for his day of work and school at 7 AM and not get home for the day till 8. Some of those days he had tests/projects/ect and it would be much later. We looked forward to July 2011 for so long and could not wait for it to be over! Even though at the time it seemed like it would never come, it did! Skyler Graduated from BYUI with a bachelors degree in Business Marketing!! I am sooo proud of him and all the hard work he put into his degree!! He would go to work and school and still come home and play with Carter and give mama a break whenever he could! I am so grateful to have a husband who is willing to work so hard to take care of his family!! Love love love you Skyler!!

splish splash!

The weather here in Rexburg has FINALLY heated up and we are loving it. I'm not sure if we have hit 90 yet but the 80's have been great. Carter loves to play outside so I figured it was the perfect time to get him a kiddie pool. I hit the jackpot with this one, he LOVES it and I love lounging outside working on my tan as he plays in it for hours straight!

I have been back blogging like crazy so scroll down for a few more new posts!

4th of July

I love the 4th of July. I love all the red, white, and blue. I love how communities come together. I love our country. This year for the 4th we went down town and watched the annual parade. I always love Rexburg parades, they have the small town feel, everybody has a float from the local grocery store to the nursing home. After the parade we came home so Carter could take a nap and anxiously waited my families arrival for a short visit to Rexburg. Once they arrived we relaxed for a minute then headed to Idaho falls for some dinner and fireworks. Carter wasn't as excited about the fireworks as I thought he would be but I think that's because it was past his bed time by the time they finally started! Maybe next year...

Texas

Skyler's uncle Coby got married a few weeks ago and it was the perfect excuse to head to Texas for a break from Idaho. The weather was HOT HOT HOT and I loved it. The cutest little groomsmen. Riding Poopaw's tractor. Carter and his second? cousin Zebb. They are exactly a year apart and both have the cutest red hair! We spent a ton of time in the pool and driving Carter around the property on the golf cart. We had a ton of fun and can't wait to go back to Nana and Poopaw's for another visit!

the great outdoors

Skyler has been wanting to go camping as a family FOREVER and we have been waiting on the weather to warm up. I got him a bunch of camping gear for father's day and it sent him over the edge with excitement for a family camping trip but the weather was still too cold at night to take Carter camping. Finally JULY came and the weather heated up. My best friend Jennie called and suggested planning a camping trip, I was all over the idea and knew Skyler would love me forever when I gave him the news. So we planned and that weekend us, the Packards, and Moss' all went camping in Island Park.
Setting up campCarter and Skyler shared a sleeping bag and kept each other warm in the 30 degree weather we had that night. I had baby girl to keep me warm and uncomfortable all night while sleeping on the hard ground. Carter entertaining Jace while we got ready for breakfast. The next day we headed to yellowstone to enjoy all the sites before we leave Idaho forever!and the only family picture from the whole trip.....
next time I will check for overall family attractiveness.

18 months

Carter turned 18 months at the end of May. I can not believe how fast time has flown! These last few months Carter has grown SO MUCH in every way and keeping up with him has been fun and tiring! Carters 18 Month stats:

Height: 34 inches (90%)
Weight: 25 lbs. 2 oz. (25%)

Carter is 100% boy, he loves anything with wheels! You can usually find him pushing a car/truck/train/tractor, ect around the floor. He runs on his toes and it is the cutest thing EVER.
He is off his baba and drinks juice, water, and milk out of sippys or a straw.
Boo boo is finally good at restraunts, he will sit at the table and eat all of his food, good boy :)!
Carter is a very quiet and thoughtful reader, he reads everything (dvd's, books, cd's, cereal boxes, food labels, ect). He will read something for a good 5 minutes before he moves to the next thing/page. The only noise he makes when he is reading is if he see's something he recognizes like, "ball", "manny", "quack quack", ect.He is transitioning to only one nap a day (against my will, haha) but still sleeps for a good 2.5 hours when he naps.
Carter goes to bed about 8:30 pm and wakes up about 8 am.
He makes the sounds of a kitty, dog, bee, monkey, train, elephant, chicken, duck and tractor. His vocabulary has EXPLODED in the last few months, it includes, hi. no. yes. ball. bath. thank you. mama. dada. out. baba. juice. nana. hot. shoe. baby. kitty. dude. cheese. oh no. i do. i NEED. i know. i don't know.
Carter LOVES to go to the park. He loves everything about it, the slides, swings, bridge, all the other kids, and especially checking out all the cool bike tires on all the bikes at the park, haha! He also loves to count everything... 2, 2, 2, 2. so funny!
Almost everything I tell Carter he responds, I know. It cracks everyone up, never known a boy who knows so much, haha!!Carter loves strawberries and can down a carton in a day or two.
Carter loves Mickey mouse, handy manny and chuggington.
He would play outside all day if I would let him, he LOVES the outdoors just like his mommy and daddy. One of the favorite things about Carter is how much he LOVES babies. He pets their heads and says "awwwwww" and then tries to take care of them. If they cry he gives them a binkie or a baba. He loves to makes babies smile and laugh. It makes me feel 100% better about how he is going to react to our new baby.I love being this little guys mommy more than anything in the whole world!!!
