my favorite travel buddy

Carter and I spent the last half of August traveling together. First we flew to San Diego to visit the Hazen family. I hadn't been to San Diego since Carter was born so I was really excited for him to enjoy some southern California sun. Just as I expected Carter loved every minute of it. He loved all the attention he got from the kids and of course his auntie Rachel. We swam A LOT, went to legoland, the beach, shopped, laughed, ate and of course missed Skyler and wished he was there sharing in all the fun!After a week and a half in San Diego we jumped on another plane and headed up north to Brentwood for my birthday. Skyler met us there at the airport and we were VERY happy to see his cute face again! I had all kinds of things that I wanted to do when I was "home" and almost did them all. We went to six flags, the redwoods, Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, soccer games, shopped in Walnut Creek, ate some yummy mexican food, saw lots of friends, and got to celebrate my birthday with family. My mom spoiled Carter with all his favorite foods, some to-die-for denim diapers, and lots of new clothes. We had so much fun and did not want to leave after only a week!Carter is my most favorite travel buddy [behind his daddy] and we feel so blessed that we are able to do so many fun things with the little guy!

9 month stats!

I can NOT believe that I have a 9 month old. This has been the fastest year of my life and I am ready for it to slow d0wn. I love being a mommy and it gets more fun as the months pass. Carters 9 month stats:

Since my baby has 2 teeth he thinks he can eat anything mommy and daddy eat. I have to say that he actually does some work with those little teeth, he chews everything to death and has yet to choke on anything. and if you can't tell, he is a very happy boy about all this growing up business.

here we go

For the last week Carter has been pulling himself up on anything and EVERYTHING. He walks around the edges of his couch, our tv stand, bed, anything. He is so proud of himself and thinks he is hot stuff. This new discovery has also turned him into a little bird. If I am eating he comes to me, stands up, opens his mouth and waits. If I don't share within seconds he is grabbing my food and telling me how he feels. I can't believe how much my little guy has grown and I can't believe how much I love him. Everyday with him gets better and better and I feel so blessed to be the mommy of such a fun, happy baby.have I mentioned that he learned how to escape his diaper??

We took Carter to the splash park to give it another try..as you can tell he had a very different reaction this time. He LOVED it!!and if you look closely at this picture...you can see 2 little teeth, finally!

an eternity to go

two years ago:one year ago:now:For our anniversary we stayed in this beautiful cabin in Driggs. We had an amazing weekend together laughing and reflecting on the last two years together and the many more to come!I love you so much Skyler, you are the chocolate to my milk. These have been the best years of my life and I know it will only get better!

growing so fast

They say babies learn new things everday..
Carter has learned how to take his diaper off....lovely.he has also learned how to drink out of a straw.push a book around the roomand pull the whole dvd player off the shelf. and he says "MAMA"!!!
they truly do learn something new everyday...just stop it for a minute!

we love texas!

Carter and I went for a visit to Texas and it was such a fun trip. Carter loved seeing so much family he hadn't been able to meet yet and of course loved the constant attention. Some highlights of the trip include..

baby preslee

A friend of mine from school needs prayers. Her 18 month old daughter Preslee fell into an irrigation canal on friday night. About 2 miles down the canal a working farmer felt something hit his leg and realized it was a baby. He pulled sweet Preslee out and immediately started infant CPR on her, while instructing his brother to call 911. Preslee was life flighted to the hospital and has been in critical condition ever since. Her and her family are in the need of prayers. They have not left my mind since I learned about this and we are praying for their family every minute we have. Please please pray for this family. Carter is finally growing some hair and I love everything about it!and have I mentioned that he is the cutest RED HEAD I have ever seen!
